The Colorado Britten Society was formed December 4, 2001,
upon the 25th anniversary of the death of Benjamin Britten,
in an effort to further an appreciation of the music
of this extraordinary English composer. 
Our Mission:

~ to promote live performances of Britten's music

~ to encourage scholarly research of Britten's life and works
   through lectures and symposia

~ to develop educational outreach programs to bring Britten's
   music to a wider audience

~ to cultivate an appreciation of Britten's music throughout 
   Colorado and beyond
Benjamin Britten
Composing is like driving down a foggy road toward a house.  Slowly you see more details of the house-the color of the slates and bricks, the shape of the windows.  The notes are the bricks and the mortar of the house.
